sexism in the work place

In aninterview with writers in newsweek it was revealed that this newsletter was sued by a group of approximately 40 women because the newsletter was very sexist and did not allow women to be working in the newsletter. Even though the state of this newsletter changed for the better now, there are still some major sexist moves from the managers and the co-workers, because in a modern work place you are expected to be “comfortable” with men.

Even though worldwide woman are still being paid less in many industries except the porn industry which is one of the most degrading facts about our sexist society that woman are only paid more than men in sexual jobs. Let’s get the facts straight a modern society shouldn’t be paying men less or more than woman, we all should be paid according to how well we do our job, not because of our gender.

So at the end of the day, solving this issue is simple, just woman the same as men. And you no industry would have a problem with the angry feminists who are trying to reach equality. You would only have humanists who are trying to get every human to have rights, because I believe that in a country such as the USA, or United kingdom or New Zealand we should past this stage of lowering the statuses of woman and presenting woman in only a sexual manner, some will argue that it’s been done to men too, but I believe woman don’t see men as helpless beings who have no self-control if they have a set of abs, in fact it is the total opposite thinking. While on the other hand, when woman are sexualised revealed in pictures half naked they are seen as helpless and ONLY sexual beings, so it’s all the about the instinct and not the intellect at that very moment.

Also there’s this image or idea about women being less capable of doing a task, meaning they don’t have the education or the strength and therefore paid less, or they are expected to stay home.

Sexism and music,
First of all, music without sexism wouldn’t sell because the entire industry depends of naked woman and portraying woman as sexualized sluts. The entire industry depends on lyrics that make woman look helpless and only made for sex. You can see it in all the music that is famous, all the music that young people strive to learn and copy the behaviours of. Rap and rob music is all sex orientated.

also the music industry has a very special place in the gangster rap section for sexism and the degrading of woman.

Woman has to work harder to prove their existence in sports,
they have to look “sexy”, and basically advertise their bodies for the male viewers, because of the people who view sports are men.
Anna Kournikova, one of the tennis players who became very famous because of her beauty and willingness to pose half naked for the camera and magazine covers. Not because she is particularly the best tennis player out there, in fact she hasn’t won anything major.

Females in sports also have to work harder than males to get promoted and well paid, they have to put on a show for the male audience and still do well in their sport. Many examples of females sports woman who are not particularly great at their sport but they are beautiful or they have a good name like Laila Ali, will already have a head start in their profession. This is most defiantly unfair for everyone else but it is the way they do things.

For example, assuming that woman from cultures such as Asia or India or any country considered to be ‘third-world’, to have no opinion or voice, to give them no opinion or voice. To just assume that they don’t know their own value, or to assume that they don’t know how to drive or how to speak another language because someone hasn’t allowed them, someone who has “authority” or control over them.
This assumption should be stopped and we should defiantly look more into this issue because it is happening all over the world. It is such a serious issue and it angers a lot of woman who do have an opinion and a voice.

A study showed that a man sees woman who are dressed in bikinis or little clothing as objects. The study described the results as follows “New research shows that, in men, the brain areas associated with handling tools and the intention to perform actions light up when viewing images of women in bikinis”, this shows that what society is telling us about wearing little clothing to be liberated is wrong on so many levels. It’s a man’s fault to have this sort of genetic makeup, and it is certainly not wrong, because half the time they don’t know it is happening. The focus of the studies hypothesis was “that men of a certain age perceive sex as a highly desirable goal”. This response of the male brain is not entirely in their control, it is a by-product of human evolution, because the first male humans had to find a fertile female and they had to spread their genes and offspring. And this explains the psychological way of thinking for a man. Also the study showed that woman who were viewed in the bikinis were associated with the words “push”, “handle”, “grab”. Yet woman who were fully clothed were associated with the words “pushes”, “handles”, “grabs”, this means that men view woman with more clothes on as more in control of themselves and their actions. The females who took this part of the test did not show this effect.
If the media is constantly advertising pictures of naked woman then men will associate most women with objects, or view them as object. It is rather ironic how such articles or information are never advertised or spoken of because it may affect the selling of products in the industry.

sexism in the bible

To start with, I’d like to say that the fact that a new bible comes out every year is rather dodgy and unrealistic. And there are many reasons to why we can say that the bible is a very sexist book now, in the past and before it was changed and edited by the priests it may have been God's words. Yet, now it is entirely the work of sexist men who want to control people. There are many versus in the bible which lower the status of a woman and also don't allow her to teach and speak in a church. It is very hard to believe that God would treat his creation in such an unfair manner, I myself have great faith and belief in God, but I don't believe in the word of the sexist Christian man. "But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." One of the versus that really strikes me was this one, it clearly states that woman cannot teach nor have authority over a man, it also says that a woman must be silenced. also in the bible it says that woman will be unclean for seven days if "they give birth to a man child", but she will be unclean for 14 days if she gives birth to a "maid child", again it states that a woman is the source of evil to a man, "And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart [is] snares and nets, [and] her hands [as] bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her.". From this I conclude that the western woman or most of the western woman follow a religion that lowers their status and treats them very poorly.

sexism in the modern world

i have chosen this topic because i see it as very fitting in the society we live in today, where many people are brain washed into thinking and believing that the idea of liberation that the USA has given birth to is true. in my opinion its completely untrue and a total myth, and with this blog i shall prove this. i hope you enjoy my ideas and thoughts. =)
